FUNERAL HELD FOR RACHEL M. THOMAS

Funeral services for Rachel M. Thomas, 71, who died July 10, 1966 in a Blackfoot hospital following a long illness were held July 14 at the Benson Funeral Home with Counselor Elden G. Archibald officiating.

The family prayer was by Elden G. Archibald. Speakers were H. Clarence Kent and Colen H. Sweeten, Jr.; prelude and postlude, Myra Jean John; vocal solo, Lonnie R. Gleed and Francis Bench; vocal duet, Masie Williams and Vereen John; invocation, Bishop Cordell Williams; benediction, James B. Jones. Accompanists were Lonnie Gleed and Myra Jean John.

Concluding rites were at the Cherry Creek cemetery with Raiford G. Benson offering the dedicatory prayer. Casket bearers were nephews.

Mrs. Thomas was born January 11, 1897 at Henderson Creek, Oneida County, a daughter of Thomas Ephraim and Mary Ann Davis Moon. She was married to Benjamin Thomas in 1914 at Brigham City. Mr. Thomas died in 1946.

She received her education at the Henderson Creek School and was a member of the LDS Church.

Surviving are three sons and two daughters, Eph M. Thomas, Caldwell; Raymond Thomas and Mrs. June Larson, Boise; Merlin Thomas and Mrs. Katherine Lowman, California; three sisters, Mrs. Annie M. Jones, Mrs. Nellie Hoskins and Daisy Moon, all of Malad.
