Mrs. Rachel Ann Jones Davis,76, died at the Oneida hospital Tuesday (07 May 1956) following a three weeks’ illness.

Mrs. Davis was born January 23, 1880 at Malad, a daughter of Henry and Catherine Pierce Jones. She was reared and educated at Malad and has been a lifelong resident of Malad Valley.

She was married to Thomas J. Davis on January 20, 1904. Mr. Davis died four years ago. She was a member of the L.D.S. Church and the St. John ward where she was a visiting teacher in the Relief Society. She was a member of the St. John Native Daughters and the Oneida County Chapter of the American War Mothers.

Surviving are seven sons and one daughter: Joe, Henry, Dale, Bud, and Mary Davis, all of Malad; Harold, Zeph, and Parley Davis, all of Ogden; 11 grandchildren and three sisters: Mrs. Don Noble, Mrs. Arch Harris, Mrs. Rosalie Slatter, all of Malad.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, May 12th at 1:00 P.M. in the St. John L.D.S. ward chapel with Bishop Melvin N. Yearsley officiating.

Friends may call at the family home Friday evening and Saturday until time of services.

Interment will be in the St. John cemetery under the direction of the Benson Funeral Home.
