CLINTON, Utah— Phil W. Call, 85, passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2000 at Heritage Park in Roy of natural causes due to age.
He was born Nov 27, 1914 in Riverdale, Utah to Lawrence E. and Bertha Wadsworth Call. He married Dolores E. Norseth on Nov 28, 1936, their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden Temple.
He graduated from Malad High School and attended Weber State College.
He was an active member of the Ogden 42nd Ward. He served as the High Priest Group Leader and Home Teacher. He loved to serve in any service capacity.
He worked for the Hotel Ben Lomond for 30 years as the head banquet manager. He later worked for the Ogden City Schools. He retired in 1985.
He was master gardener. He loved the mountains and the outdoors.
Phil was loved by all who knew him. He was always available to help, support and love his family.
Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Dolores E. Call, Clinton; children, Darlene Call, Salt Lake City; Ron (Christine) Call, Ogden; Judy (Butch) Giles, West Point; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. He is also survived by two brothers and two sisters. June Williams, Vern ( Elaine) Call, Geraldine ( Byron) Olsen, and Monte ( Barbara) Call.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and a granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 6, 2000 at 1 p.m. at Myers Mortuary Chapel in Ogden, 845 Washington Blvd., where friends may call on Friday from 11:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.
Interment, Myers Evergreen Memorial Park.
