Mrs. Andy Reed Dies From Heart Attack

Friends and relatives were shocked to hear of the death Tuesday night [October 3, 1939] of Mrs. Andy Reed of Sandy, Utah, who died of a heart attack. Mrs. Reed was enroute from her home in Sandy to Salt Lake City to visit her daughter, Darhl, who had recently undergone an operation for appendicitis. She was accompanied by a lady friend who thought Mrs. Reed had fainted until told otherwise by the physician summoned. Mrs. Reed was thought to be in good health and her death is a distinct shock to all.

Mrs. Reed was born in Malad City, on June 3, 1904, the daughter of David P. Jones and Mary Thomas Jones. She attended the local schools and had many friends here. She was married on June 24, 1921, to Andy Reed and they made their home here for some time. For several years the Reeds have lived in Utah where Mr. Reed has ben[sic] employed, making their home in Copperton and later moving to Sandy.

Mrs. Reed was the mother of four children, three of whom survive, being two daughters, Darhl, 17 and Claudette, 4, and one son, Vernon, 14.

Funeral services are being held in Sandy today, after which the body will be brought here, where services will be held Saturday, at 2 p.m. in the Second ward tabernacle.

In addition to her husband and children, Mrs. Reed is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. P. Jones *r. five brothers, Morgan T. Jones, Henry T. Jones, D. P. Jones Jr., Dewey Jones and Myron Jones all of Malad, and two sisters, Mrs. Owen Jones and Miss Mae Jones.

Relatives who went to Sandy for the services were: Mr. and Mrs. D. P. Jones Jr., Mrs. D. P. Jones Sr., Mrs. Owen Jones, Mr. and Mrs. Myron Jones, Mrs. Morgan T. Jones and Miss Dolores Jones.
