Pearl Davis (Birth 5 Oct 1906/Death Jan 1983)

MALAD — Pearl Davis, 76, 151 W. 200 North, Malad, died Tuesday (1983) in the Malad Living Center.

She was born Oct. 5, 1906, in Malad, to Joseph R. and Ann Louisa Jones Davis. She grew up and received her education in Malad. She later attended Weber College, BYU and the University of Utah, where she received an education degree. She taught school in many areas including Tremonton, Utah, Weiser, and the Daniels area near Malad. She taught school in the Malad city schools for over 30 years and was involved in the first kindergarten class in Malad. She retired in 1973.
She was a member of the LDS Church and was active in the Sunday school program.

Survivors include a brother, Arthur J. Davis, Idaho Falls, and many nieces and nephews. She had helped raise four nieces.

Funeral services will be Friday at noon in the Malad LDS Stake chapel with Bishop Clarence Kent officiating. Friends may call at the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home today from 7-9 p.m. and Friday prior to the services. Burial will be in the Malad City Cemetery.
