OSCAR E. THOMAS DIES AT OGDEN

Funeral services for Oscar Edward Thomas, 60, of Ogden, were conducted Wednesday at the LDS Malad Third Ward chapel by Bishop Jesse Hughes. Mr. Thomas died of a heart attack while at work at Hill Air Force Base on October 30, 1949.

Prayer at the home was offered by Hubert Gleed. Mrs. Joe Laws, Jr., played the prelude and postlude. The invocation was offered by Royal Swenson, the benediction by J. Peter Jensen. The speakers were W.H. Rutter, W.W. Thomas and Bishop Jess Hughes. Musical numbers consisted of vocal solo, Keith Evans, accompanied by Mrs. Evans; vocal solo, Jenk Palmer, accompanied by Pauline Atkinson; violin solo, Fern Willie, accompanied by Mrs. Laws. Guy Benson dedicated the grave. The American Legion advanced the colors and paid military honors at the graveside.

Mr. Thomas was born January 16, 1889 in Malad, Idaho, a son of John R. and Sarah Owens Thomas. He attended schools in Malad. He was a veteran of World War I.

Four years ago he became employed at Hill base as an aircraft parts processor in the supply warehouse. He was a member of the LDS Church.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Ruth Goddard Thomas and three daughters, Malad; two brothers and two sisters, Chester Thomas, Richard L. Thomas and Mrs. Al Hanson, Salt Lake City, and Mrs. H.W. Thomas, Malad.
