Oliver Paul Clark

Oliver Paul Clark, 70, lifetime Malad-area resident, died Friday, August 17, (1970) on his farm of an apparent heart failure.

He was born September 2, 1919, in Malad to William and Olive Jones Clark. He was reared and educated in Malad, and was a graduate of Malad High School. He worked on the family farm near Devil Creek, north of Malad.

He married Gladys Swenson Vaughan on June 1, 1950, in Nevada. After their marriage he farmed and ranched in Devil Creek for many years.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and held the office of elder.

He is survived by his wife of Malad, one stepson, Donald S. Vaughan, Cherry Creek; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Paul (Carole) Semrad, Malad, and Mrs. Lois V. Williams, Salt Lake City; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one brother, William, Salt Lake City, and two sisters, Twila and Hilda, both of Washington.

Funeral services were held at noon on Tuesday, August 21st in the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home, with Bishop Marvin Hess officiating. Burial was in the Malad City Cemetery.
