
NORMAN KENDALL HARRIS
Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away Janury 10, 2012 in Salt lake City, UT.
Norman Kendall Harris was born August 3, 1927 to Franklin Everett Harris and Margaret Rose Howell Harris in Malad, ID. He grew up in Portage, UT and married Diana Cutler on December 13, 1948 in the Logan LDS Temple. She passed away on July 10, 2003. He then married Virginia Jones Bowlels on June 1, 2004 and enjoyed two and a half years together with her and her loving family before her death. He married Evelyn Petersen on July 14, 2007.
He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings including Bishop of the Kearns 18th Ward. He lived in Kearns since 1952. He served in the Army Air Corps. He was employed at Kennecott Copper as an oiler-operator on the big shovels. He enjoyed traveling, snowmobiling, boating and water skiing. His greatest love was spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Harris, children Kaleen (Mac) Middlesworth, Myrna Harris, Jed (Debbie) Harris, Danny (Nikki) Harris, Kayla (David) DelaMare, Ryan (Sandi) Harris. Also survived by his younger brother, Clint Harris, and sister Carolyn Grace. He leaves behind 17 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He is also survived by Evelyn’s children, Susan (Larry) Wright, John I (Verna) Petersen, Mike (Shauna) Petersen, Randy (Leslie) Petersen and Sheila (Randy) Buchel and adding many more grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held January 16, 2012 at the Westwood Heights Chapel. Interment with military honors at Larkin Sunset Gardens.
