Services Held For Mrs. Nellie Pierce

Bishop N. Melvin Yearsley conducted the funeral services Thursday for Mrs. Nellie James Pierce, 74, who died March 31, in Salt Lake City.

Funeral services are being held today (Thursday) in the St. John LDS Chapel for Mrs. Nellie J. Pierce, 74, who died Monday of natural causes in Salt Lake City. Bishop N. Melvin Yearsley is officiating.

She was born in St. John on Sept. 11, 1883, a daughter of John and Hannah Lenman James. She was reared and educated there and was marred to Thomas Pierce in January, 1903. They were engaged in farming in that community all of their adult lives. Mr. Pierce died in February, 1950.

Surviving are a son, James D., Provo; a daughter, Mrs. Rulon (Mildred) Jones, Magna; two sisters, Mrs. Ed. E. Jones, Mrs. Leonard Jones; a brother, Dave James, all of Malad; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Interment will be in the St. John Cemetery under the direction of the Benson Funeral Home.
