SHERMAN PIERCE

Sherman Pierce, 70, of Aberdeen, died Sunday, December 1, 1991, at the Bannock Regional Medical Center.

He was born on June 2, 1921, in Malad, Idaho, to William Samuel Pierce and Sarah Jones Pierce. He married Margie Dives on March 25, 1939, in Ogden, Utah, and the marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Aberdeen Third Ward, the American Legion Aberdeen Post No. 59, and the Aberdeen Boots and Saddles. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, gardening and flowers. He was a proficient carpenter and cabinet maker. He loved spending time at his cabin in Island Park, which he built himself.

He is survived by his loving wife, Margie, of Aberdeen; one son, Sterling Pierce of Eugene, Ore.; four daughters, Judy Johns of Blackfoot, Vicki Lehman of Aberdeen, Janice Lehman of Melba, and Melanie Behunin of Salt Lake City, Utah; one sister, Nettie Smith of Idaho Falls; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mariann Williams.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 5, 1991, at 2 p.m. at the Aberdeen Third Ward Chapel. Bishop Scott Poulson will conduct the services. Interment will follow the services at the Aberdeen Cemetery, with honors by the Aberdeen American Legion Post No. 59. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Davis Mortuary, American Falls.
