FUNERAL RITES FOR MRS. NELLIE MORGAN

Impressive funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the First Ward chapel for Mrs. Nellie D. Morgan, who died at her home of Friday, April 7, 1939. Bishop Thomas D. Evans presided at the services which were carried as follows:

Invocation, A.R. Castleton; “O My Father” sung by Third Ward Relief Society Singing Mothers, accompanied by Mrs. Anna T. Jones; remarks, R.N. Hill; “Dreaming of Mother” sung by Mrs. Margaret E. Jones, accompanied by Mrs. Golden Ward; remarks Henry Denkers of Ogden and Bishop Thomas D. Evans; benediction, Joseph Parry.

Interment was in the Brigham City cemetery with S. Van Boerum of Ogden dedicating the grave.

Mrs. Nellie DeGooyer Morgan was born May 18, 1875 at Meemster, North Holland, the daughter of M. and Gertie Pilkes DeGooyer. She joined the LDS Church in Holland in 1901 and came to America in June of 19904. She made her home in Salt Lake City for some time and was married to William J. Morgan, August 7, 1907, and came to Malad to make her home. Mrs. Morgan was the mother of four children, of whom three survive. They are: Mrs. Oral Talbot of American Falls, Kenneth F. Morgan of Montpelier and Miss Hazel Morgan of Malad. She is also survived by one grandchild; Mariam Kay Talbot, and the following brothers and sisters; Mrs. A. Terstall of Amsterdam, Hoolland; Mrs. S. Van Boerum of Ogden, Cornelius and Henry DeGooyer and Mrs. William R. Jones of Salt Lake City.

Mrs. Morgan was an active worker in Relief Society, primary and religion class. Death came after an illness of several months.
