FUNERAL RITES HELD FOR NEAL THOMAS

Funeral services for Neal Thomas, 35, single, who died suddenly at the family home early Sunday morning (1957), were held Wednesday in the First Ward Chapel.

James Vaughan presided. Mrs. Mae Williams played the prelude and postlude and accompanied the musical numbers which consisted of vocal solos by Don Williams and Jenkin Jones. W.W. Thomas and J.M. Isaacson were the speakers. Hugh Griffiths gave the invocation; H.E. Thomas, benediction, and Guy Benson dedicated the grave. Neal Crowther offered the prayer at the home.

Graveside services were conducted by the Ernest W. Jones post of the American Legion. Merrill Probst played taps and J. Wm. Anderson made the flag presentation to Mr. Thomas’ parents.

Mr. Thomas was born at Malad, March 3, 1916, a son of William Henry and Sarah Jane Williams Thomas. Except for a period in military service, he lived in Malad and received his education in the Malad schools.

He was inducted into military service in the spring of 1943 and after training in the United States, he was moved into action in Africa. His health failed while he was in the service, and he returned home several months before the war ended.

Besides his parents, he is survived by a sister, Mrs. N.M. Colley of South Gate, CA; and four brothers, Russell Thomas, Los Angeles; Samuel D. Thomas, Malad; Arnold Thomas, Downey, CA; William Virgil Thomas, Malad.

Burial was in the Malad City Cemetery directed by Malad Funeral Service.
