Naomi Williams Folland

FOLLAND, NAOMI WILLIAMS, January 16, 1898 – December 25, 1988

SALT LAKE CITY – Naomi Williams Folland, 90 former Malad resident, died Sunday, December 25, 1988 in Salt lake City, Utah of heart failure. She was born January 16, 1898 at Malad City, ID, the fifth of eleven children born to Arthur M. and Mary Thompson Williams.

She attended public schools in Malad and served as Studentbody President at Malad High School during the 1915-16 school year.

She married Lorin G. Folland, Sr. on June 27, 1918 in Logan, UT. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple in 1941. They moved to Salt Lake City in 1923 where they have since made their home.

As a member of the LDS Church, she served as both officer and teacher in Primary, Relief Society, Sunday School and YWMIA. She and her husband were workers in the Salt Lake Temple for many years. She was also active in political and community activities.

She is survived by one son, Lorin G. Folland, Jr.; a daughter, Mrs. Paul H. (Betty) Evans; two sisters, Jayne Jardine, Clarkston, UT; and Eva Jones, Ogden, UT; eight grandchildren and thirty-two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers and five sisters.

Funeral services were held December 29, 1988 at the Garden Heights North Ward, Salt Lake City, UT. Interment was in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
