OGDEN – Myron B. Richardson, Sr., 75, of 2201 Grant avenue, bishop of Ogden Third L. D. S. ward for the past 26 years and member of the Utah state legislature in 1910, died Sunday [1941] at 8:30 a.m. in an Ogden hospital of pneumonia.

Mr. Richardson suffered severe skull and spinal injuries Thursday noon near noon when he fell from a painter’s scaffold while he was working on the Milner hotel building at the intersection of Lincoln avenue and Twenty-fifth street. However, pneumonia, which developed later, was the immediate cause of death, his attending physician reported.

Mr. Richardson was born February 21, 1865, in Riverdale, Weber county, a son of Ebenezer C. and Phoebe Child Richardson. He had spent his entire life in Ogden with the exception of a few years in Riverdale and Plain City.

He married Louisa Shurtleff April 10, 1884, in the Salt Lake L. D. S. temple. She died Ogden on January 22, 1926, and on February 3, 1927 he married Lois Wright Fife in the Salt Lake L. D. S. temple.

Long Church Service

Prior to his becoming bishop of the Third ward 26 years ago, he served four years as counselor of the late Bishop W. D. Van Dyke. He was a high priest of North Weber L. D. S. stake. In 1903 he completed a mission for the L. D. S. church in the northwestern states. He was believed to be the oldest L. D. S. bishop from point of service in northern Utah.

For several years he was associated with Ogden Wholesale Grocery company, and for the past 14 years he had assisted his brother, Ezra Richardson, in management of his property.

Surviving are his widow and the following sons and daughters; Lewis E. and Myron B. Richardson Jr., Mrs. T. Clyde Gale, and Mrs. T. I. Nelson of Ogden, Mrs. J. C. Garmire of Pocatello, Idaho, and Mrs. Irene Moyes of Spokane, Wash.; 15 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; and the following brothers; Levi Richardson of American Falls, Idaho, Ezra and W. W. Richardson Sr., of Ogden.
