Millie Eveline Price Evans

EVANS, MILLIE EVELINE PRICE, August 23, 1895 – March 16, 1979

Millie Eveline Price Evans, 83, of Malad, died Friday morning, March 16 in the Oneida County Hospital of a stroke suffered Tuesday.

She was born August 23, 1895 in Malad to John William and Sarah Richardson Price.

She married Heber Jones Evans, April 2, 1913 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They lived in Malad until 1941, when they moved to Salt Lake City. They also lived in Parma, ID and California before moving back to Malad in 1959. He died July 22, 1972.

Mrs. Evans was a member of the LDS Church and served as Relief Society President, member of Primary Stake Board, counselor in the primary presidency, served a stake mission and was a visiting teacher for many years.

She is survived by a son and four daughters: Heber Grant Evans, Covina, CA; Mrs. Douglas (Delaine) Bateman, Boise; Mrs. Stanton (Orlene) Keefer, Cave Junction, Oregon; mrs. Keith M. (Elda) Budge, San Diego, CA; and Mrs. Rex D. (Anna May) Evans, Portland, Oregon; 16 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Harvey L. (Catherine) Jones, Malad.

Funeral services were held Monday in the Malad First Ward LDS Chapel with Bishop Gordon Griffiths officiating. Prelude and postlude music was given by Hope Price. Stephanie E. Baker, Renee E. Borland, H. Grant Evans, Connie Budge and Lana Esplin offered vocal selection; accompanists were Richard Talbot, Lori Talbot and Hope Price.

Casket bearers were Blair Thorpe, Marion Price, Ralph Price, Varlo Price, Ron Talbot, Dennis Budge, Valdo Talbot and Larell Jones.

Interment was in the Malad City Cemetery.
