EVANS, MELVON, July 8, 1909 – August 12, 1976

A former manager of a food store here, Melvon (Pete) Evans, age 67, died in Ogden Saturday of natural causes. Private services were held there Tuesday and burial was in the Ogden Cemetery.

Mr. Evans at one time managed the American Food Store here.

Mr. Evans was born July 8, 1909 in Brigham City, a son of Abraham and Anna May Wright Evans. On May 12, 1933, he married Erma Urban in Wahoo, Nebraska. He moved from Malad to Ogden in 1964.

Survivors are his widow of Ogden; three sons and a daughter; DeVon (Pete) Evans of Ogden; Paul M. Evans of Las Vegas; William A. Evans of Newark, CA; and Mrs. Sharon Dascher of Seattle, WA; nine grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Dave (Gladys) Nelson of Brigham City; Mrs. Jack (Nina) Hammer of Carney, Nebraska; and Mrs. Leo (Venora) Ovenden of Relta, CA.
