MELVIN E. THOMSON

Services for Melvin E. Thomson, 72, Odessa, Texas, were held September 10, 1987 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints meeting house with Bishop Joe Black officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Thomson died Monday, September 7, 1987 at the Medical Center Hospital after a sudden illness. He was born July 15, 1915 in Pleasantview, ID. He married June Goddard Sept. 6, 1937 in Ely, NV.

Mr. Thomson was a wholesale grocery salesman for Independent Grocers Assn. until 1983. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Douglas Thomson of Las Vegas, NV, and Martin Thomson of Odessa; three daughters, Mariilyn Fowler, LeAnna Hand and Lisa Heath, all of Odessa; three brothers, Ren Thomson of Malad, ID; Roy Thomson of Bountiful, UT; and Robert Thomson of Pocatello, ID; a sister, Margaret Davis of Ontario, OR; 11 grandchildren and a great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Lund; and three brothers, Si Thomson, George Thomson and Dick Thomson.
