Melba Yearsley, 11 November 1911

Melba Yearsley, 85, died November 15, 1996 at a local medical center.

She was born November 11, 1911 at Malad, ID to Ephraim and Isabella Noble Monson. She attended school in Malad and graduated from Grimes Business School in Pocatello.

She married Ralph W. Yearsley on August 17, 1931 at Brigham City, UT.

She had been employed in the late 50s and early 60s as an investigative reporter for various insurance companies. Melba was an excellent seamstress, cook, gardener and enjoyed photography. She loved and enjoyed her family and friends.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints until ill health prevented her from attending church.

Melba was a volunteer at Bannock Regional Medical Center for many years, accumulating more than 2,000 hours of service, and was named volunteer of the year.

She is survived by her husband, Ralph, of Pocatello; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ralph Gary and ArLene Yearsley of Huntington Beach, CA; James I. and Marilynn Yearsley; a daughter and son-in-law, Isabella and Joe Willies, all of Pocatello; nine grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Charles Paul Yearsley on October 3, 1952, six brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted November 19, 1996 in the Pocatello LDS 26th Ward with Bishop Darl Bennett conducting. Interment will be in the St. John Cemetery near Malad. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Henderson-Cornelison Funeral Home, Pocatello.
