Mary Dutson dies June 25th

Mary (Mae) Eliza Hill Cutler Dutson, 72, died Monday (25 Jun 1979) at Nibley, Utah, following an apparent heart attack.

She was born Aug. 25, 1906, at St. John in Oneida County to
John and Mary Jane Williams Hill.

She married Elvin James Cutler Sept. 7, 1926, in Pocatello, and that marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. He died in August 1965. She married Eben Dutson Oct. 25, 1975 at Preston.

She received her education at Malad High School and her teaching degree in Pocatello. She had been a school teacher. She was active in the ladies literary club in Preston, wrote poetry, served on Stake Sunday School Board, and had been a teacher in all the church auxiliaries, teaching genealogy for many years.

Survivors include her husband; one son, Elvin James, Burley; four grandchildren; five stepdaughters, Mrs. Boyd (Elaine) Swenson and Mrs. Hatch (LaRue) Wilcox, both of Logan, Utah; Mrs. Kay (ReNee’) Kohler, Idaho Falls; Mrs. Brent (Rose Ann) Womack, Nibley, Utah, and Mrs. Arlan (Gayla) Hovey, Millville, Utah; 21 step-grandchildren; 20 step-great-grandchildren; one brother, John Hill, one sister, Catherine Cowley, both Malad.

Funeral services will be Thursday at noon in the Preston Seventh Ward LDS Chapel. Friends may call the Webb Mortuary Wednesday 7-9 p.m. and at the mortuary Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until time of service.

Burial will be in the Preston Cemetery.
