GIBBS, MARY L. HOSKINS, August 22, 1878 – July 1, 1969

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary L. Gibbs, 90, will be held in the Malad LDS Second Ward Chapel with Bishop Gordon Crowther officiating. Mrs. Gibbs died July 1, 1969 at Kimberly, Idaho of natural causes.

Mrs. Gibbs was born August 22, 1878 at Portage, a daughter of Ellen Jones Hoskins and Oliver C. Hoskins. She received her early education at Portage and malad and attended a tailoring school at Logan. She was married to Joseph Edward Gibbs, October 11, 1898 in the Salt Lake LD Temple. They were the parents of eight children, three of whom preceded her in death. Her husband died September 19, 1962.

Mrs. Gibbs was active in her entire life in Church activities, working in the Mutual and Relief Society. She was a charter member o f the Ladies Literary Club of Malad.

Surviving are two sons and three daughters, Lona Wordal, Spokane, WA; Alfred Gibbs, Twin Falls; Eleanor Wright, Hyrum, UT; Ralph C. Gibbs, Salt lake City, UT; Letitia Blaisdell, Malad; 16 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Burial will be in the Portage, Utah cemetery under the direction of the Benson Funeral Home.
