Former Samaria woman dies in California

Service was held Tuesday, August 24th, at San Pedro, Calif. for Mrs. Mary E. Peterson Smith, age 71.

She died August 20th at San Pedro after a long illness.

Mrs. Smith was born Oct. 9, 1905 at Samaria, Idaho, a daughter of Hyrum and Mary A. Hill Peterson.

She is survived by two daughters, Arden and Mary Alice, Long Beach, California; two brothers, Hyrum Peterson, Malad; Howard Peterson, Thatcher, Utah; four sisters, Leola Boley, Alhambra, Calif.; Helena Simmons, Salt Lake City; Deloris Price, Samaria; Eulalias Weidemeyer, Ogden; eight grandchildren.

Among those attending the services last week were Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Peterson, Malad; Mrs. Helena Simmons and daughter, Lynene, Salt Lake City.
