SERVICES MONDAY FOR MRS. TOVEY

Bishop Melvin Yearsley conducted funeral services Monday at the Malad Second Ward chapel for Mrs. Mary Ann Jardine Tovey, who died January 1, 1961 in Pocatello of a heart ailment.

Prayer at the home was offered by Wm. H. Rutter. At the chapel, the invocation was offered by Arch Harris and the benediction by Don Noble. Griff L. Jenkins was the speaker and Bishop Yearsley read the obituary. Musical numbers were a duet, Ilene Reynolds and Diane Facer, and a solo, Jenkin L. Palmer. Prelude and postlude music was played by Cherrel J. Budge, and Mary Louise Peden and Myra Jean John were the accompanists.

Raiford Benson offered the dedicatory prayer at the Cherry Creek Cemetery. Casket bearers were Keith D. Tovey, Terrell Tovey, Rhys Tovey, Morgan Tovey, Jr., Lester M. Tovey and John D. Tovey. Flowers were arranged by St. John Ward Relief Society and the St. John Native Daughters of Idaho Pioneers. Interment was directed by Benson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Tovey was born August 7, 1872 at Willard, Utah, a daughter of James and Suzanne Dudley Jardine. She was married to David W. Tovey February 22, 1892 at Malad. He died 16 years ago.

She was educated in Cherry Creek, lived in St. John and Moved to Pocatello seven years ago.

She was a member of the LDS Church, the Native Daughters of Idaho Pioneers and War Mothers.

Survivors are two sons and one daughter: Morgan Tovey, Malad; Lester Tovey, Blackfoot; Mrs. Margery Paulsen, Pocatello; 23 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and three sisters of Anaconda, Montana.
