SERVICES SATURDAY FOR MRS. TOVEY

Funeral services were held Saturday at the Malad LDS Third Ward for Mrs. Martha Jane Evans Tovey, 83, who died March, 1963 at the Oneida Hospital after an illness.

Officiating was Bishop Lon W. Corbridge and family prayer was offered by John O. Evans. At the chapel, the speakers were Thomas Jones, Ralph w. Harding and Mrs. Robert Constable, who gave the obituary. Musical numbers were organ prelude and postlude by Mrs. Ruth C. Davis, vocal solos, Jenkin Jones, Carolyn Ward and Jenkin L. Palmer. Accompanist was Mae E. Williams. Invocation was offered by Bishop Morgan Harris and the benediction by Dale Moon. Concluding rites were at the Malad City Cemetery where George Ward gave the dedicatory prayer. Flowers were carried by the Malad 3rd Ward Relief Society and the casket bearers were Jerry Jones, John O. Evans, Cecil Evans, Carl Evans, Paul Evans, Robert Mock.

Mrs. Tovey was born at Devil Creek, Oneida County, on June 12, 1879, a daughter of Charles R. and Sarah Lusk Evans. Reared and educated at Malad, she was married to Morgan Francis Tovey in March, 1899 at Malad. Mrs. Tovey died Sept. 2, 1921.

She was a member of the LDS Church, the Native Daughters of Idaho Pioneers and the Rebecca Lodge.

Surviving are three sons and one daughter; Daniel, Malad; Charles, Morgan, Mrs. LeRoy (Kenna) Jones, all Nampa; 22 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. C.J. (Winifred) Mock, Downey; Mrs. Paul T. (Vilda) Miller, Los Angeles.
