Margaret Barnett Tovey, 28 October 1917

Margaret Barnett Tovey, 78, of Boise, formerly of Malad and Pocatello, died January 2, 1996 at a Boise hospital.

Margaret was born October 28, 1917 at Malad, the daughter of Franklin M. and Sarelda Edith Thomas Barnett. She grew up in Arbon Valley, ID. She attended schools in Arbon, Pocatello, Malad and Arimo, Idaho.

After graduating from high school, she attended Pocatello Cosmetology School and then went to work at a beauty shop in Malad. She bought the shop in Malad and worked there and in Boise for 20 years.

Margaret married Boyd Tovey on February 14, 1938 in Brigham City, UT. They moved to Boise in 1945.

She was an active member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, an active member of Cub Scouts, Boise Rescue Mission Auxiliary and Mountain States Tumor Institute “Make Today Count.”

She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Boyd Tovey, a son, Brent Tovey and three grandchildren, all of Boise. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.

Graveside services will be held January 5, 1996 at Mountainview Cemetery in Pocatello. Darrel Lawson will officiate. Services are under the direction of Summers Funeral Homes, Boise Chapel, Boise.
