MRS. EMMETT THOMAS

Funeral services for Mrs. Thomas were held Tuesday in the Stake Tabernacle with Dr. V.P. Garst presiding. Reverend Ferris of the First Presbyterian church of Pocatello delivered a fitting funeral sermon and dedicated the grave. Other speakers were: J.C. Tovey and Hyrum J. Hansen. Musical numbers included a vocal solo by Mrs. Margaret Edwards Jones; duet, Morgan and Lester Tovey; duet Miss Elaine Evans and Miss Audene Jones; quartet, Morgan Tovey, Lester Tovey, Edward Woozley and Professor S.M. Powell. These numbers were accompanied by Professor Powell, who also played the postlude and prelude. Arch Harris of St. John offered the invocation.

Out of town people who came for the services included: Mrs. Thomas Wilson, Mrs. hazel Olson, Mrs. Jessie Barry, Mrs. D.C. Wilson, Mrs. L.G. Wilson, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Anthony, Mrs. Jenk Williams, Mrs. Rulon Gassman, Dr. and Mrs. Fred Ray, and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Jones and J.W. Jensen, all of Pocatello. Mr. and Mrs. Grover South, Mrs. Agnes Merrick, T.D. Jones, Glen Jones, Ray Jones, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Thorpe all of Logan; W.J. Williams of Wellsville and George A. Yates of Aberdeen, Idaho.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Nish, Mrs. Jessie Nish, Mrs. Newell Nish of Plymouth.

Mrs. Thomas was born at Malad, August 28, 1878, the daughter of David P. and Mary Jones. Shortly after her birth the family moved to Pocatello where they lived until 1900 when they returned to Malad. She was married to Emmett Thomas Sept. 2, 1901.

Mrs. Thomas was a member of the Baptist Church.

Besisdes her husband, she is survived by the following children: Jim Thomas, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Wilorie Lewis, Santa Monica, Cap; Mrs. Orval Wilson, Pocatello; Mrs. Thomas Kent, Mrs. Floyd Hess, Harold, Frank, Marjorie, Dave and Dallas Thomas of Malad; also the following sisters: Mrs. W.P. Hays, Ogden; Mrs. N. Rasmussen, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Oscar D. Jones, Linwood, CA; Mrs. L.V. Redfield, Reno, NV; Miss Iris G. Jones, Raymond, Canada.

Ten grandchildren also survive.
