MINNIE THOMAS DIES JUNE 16TH

Minnie Ashton Thomas, 79, died June 16, 1981 of natural causes. She ws born February 23, 1902 at Salt Lake to Edward T. and Cora L. Ashton. She married David S. Thomas, February 18, 1925 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died in 1952. She was a cashier for Keeley’s for many years.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Cyrus (Neva) Nielsen, Mrs. Brent (Peggy) Layton, Salt Lake City; a son, David S. Thomas, Twain harte, CA. She had ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters: Mrs. Joseph (Eva) Kiar, Mrs. A.R. (Beth) Yeates and Mrs. A.J. (Norma) Eardley; two brothers, Jed L. and Clifford L. Ashton, all of Salt Lake.

Funeral services were held Saturday at the Deseret Mortuary. Interment was in the Malad City Cemetery.
