Marla Merle Lusk Whiting, 51, died Wednesday, July 13, 1994 at her Salt Lake City home from causes incident to cancer.

She was born in Ogden, Utah, February 26, 1943, the daughter of David Jenkins Lusk and Meryl Reynolds Lusk. Her growing up years were spent in both Malad and Aberdeen, graduating in 1961 from Aberdeen High School.

On May 18, 1962, Marla married L. Blair Whiting in Aberdeen. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden Temple.

Marla was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother as well as an active member of the LDS Church where she served in many positions throughout the years.

She made her home in various places including Pocatello; Omaha, Nebraska; Ogden and Sandy.

Marla is survived by her husband L. Blair Whiting; daughters, April Whiting and Amy (Scott) Westra, both of Salk Lake City; son Joshua Blair Whiting, currently serving in the Guatemala City Central LDS Mission; her granddaughter, McKenna Nicole Westra of Salt Lake City; her mother, Merle Reynolds Lusk of Aberdeen; sister, Joanne (Jack) Holt of Salt Lake City; two brothers, Kenneth D. (LaRue) Lusk of Hesperus, Colorado and Scott R. (Leslie) Lusk of Aberdeen, many aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her father, David J. Lusk.

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 16, in Salt Lake City. Interment was at the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
