GARLAND – John Ray White, 74 died Tuesday, July 5, 1994 at the Veteran’s Hospital in Salt Lake City.

He was born June 6, 1920 in Colinston a son of Jacob Jeremiah (Jake) and Julie Ellen (Nellie) Potts White.

He married Vaudys Harper in Brigham City, they were divorced in 1964. He married Georgina Smith Hess January 10, 1973 in Las Vegas, Nevada; she died July 2, 1993.

Mr. White attended Garland Elementary; was a graduate of USAC on a football scholarship. He was also a member of the Sigma Chi Faternity (sic).

He was a livestock buyer in New Mexico and was a partner in a feed lot and auction in Artesia, New Mexico.

He was a High Priest in the Garland 2nd LDS Ward where he had served as a Home Teacher.

He served in the Utah Army National Guard during World War II in the Pacific Theater.

Survivors include one daughter and her spouse; Karla Jean and E. Phillip Dellner, Cameron Park, California; one grandchild; two step-daughters; Bernice McNeil, Washington State; Merle Marble, Malad, Idaho; one step-daughter-in-law; Darla Hess, Garland; three brothers and five sisters; Olive Durfey, Beaver Dam; Lola Guyon, Mesa, Arizona; Dallas and Beth White, Ogden; Dorothy and Roy Jensen and June Pinder, all of Mesa Arizona; Alf and Leone White, Logan; Beth and Don Hansen, Tremonton; James and Zenna White, Garland. He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, July 8, 1994 at 11:00 a.m. in the Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home Chapel, 111 N. 1st E. Tremonton with Bishop James K. Riley officiating. Friends may call at the Funeral Home Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Friday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m.

Interment will be in the Deweyville Cemetery.
