PEARL THOMAS, AGE 84, DIES AT MALAD SUNDAY

Mrs. Marintha Pearl Ward Thomas, age 84, died August 22, 1976 in the Oneida County Hospital of natural causes.

She was born August 14, 1892 at Woodruff, Idaho, a daughter of George and Eunice Nicholas Ward.

She was married to Henry E. Thomas Nov. 22, 1911 in Malad, the marriage was solemnized June 28, 1917 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mr. Thomas died August 23, 1964.

She received her education in the Woodruff schools and was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in the Primary, Relief Society and Mutual Improvement Assn.

Survivors include four sons and two daughters: H. Ward Thomas, Malad; Bert L. Thomas, Jacksonville, FL; Rollin w. Thomas, Soda Springs; Dr. B.L. Thomas, Salt Lake City; Miss Shelba Thomas, Malad; Mrs. Robert E. (Janice) Colson, Naperville, IL; 15 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Funeral service was held August 25, 1976 in the Malad First LDS Ward Chapel with bishop Myron Jones officiating. The family prayer was given by George E. Harris at the Benson Funeral Home. At the chapel, George E. Ward offered the invocation and Estella D. Budge delivered the obituary and remarks. Myrthus W. Evans was the speaker.

Providing prelude and postlude music was Mary E. Williams. Connie Budge and Lana Esplin rendered a vocal duet and Eldon Corbridge sang a solo. Benediction was given by Jon C. Ward.

Concluding rites were at the Malad City Cemetery with Alfred John offering the dedicatory prayer.

The Malad First Ward Relief Society, Karine Hill, president, were in charge of the flowers. Maria Williams and Lou Williams handed out programs.

Casket bearers were Don W. Thomas, James B. McDonald, Tommy Colson, Ross R. Thomas, Tim R. Thomas, Bobby Colson, Chris Thomas and Reed M. Thomas.

Funeral arrangements were by the Benson Funeral Home.
