Marie Illum Wight, (1916)

WIGHT, MARIE ILLUM, April 30, 1916 – July 26, 2004

Marie Illum Wight, 88, of Pleasantview, passed away on July 26, 2004 in the Oneida County Long Term Care Center. She was born April 30, 1916 in Logan, Utah, a daughter of John Peter and Mary Elizabeth Palmer Illum.

Marie was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and had served in Primary, Mutual, Sunday School and as a visiting teacher. She was raised and educated in Malad and later attended Albion State.

Marie married Bertrund Joel Wight April 24, 1940 and he passed away September 14, 1978.

She is survived by one son, John Alma (Linda) Wight of Pleasantview; three daughters: Betty Marie Wight and Nelda Wight, both of Bountiful, Utah; Dorothy (Randall) Webb of Las Vegas, Nevada; four grandchildren, Chris and Peter Wight of Las Vegas, Nevada, Joel Wight of Logan, Utah and Kalyn Wight of Rexburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother.

Funeral services were held July 31, 2004 in the Malad LDS 2nd/5th Ward chapel. Burial was in the Pleasantview Cemetery.
