Marie Bethart Livingston Wakley, 1 June 1919

Marie Bethart Livingston Wakley, our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother returned to our loving Heavenly Father on October 13, 2002 at the LDS Hospital where she loved to volunteer.

She was born June 1, 1919 to Luis and Maria Bethart in Santa Clara, Cuba. She was educated in Florida and Washington, D.C. where her father served as the Cuban consul. She married William S. Livingston in 1946 and moved to Salt lake City, later divorced. She married Dean Wakley of Malad, ID in 1962. She found great joy as a volunteer of the LDS Hospital where she was recognized as Volunteer of the Year. Our spunky mother also loved the association she had with her bowling teams. Marie was a convert and devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She delighted in her callings as nursery leader and name extraction missionary.

Marie will be missed by her surviving family: daughter, EvaMarie Livingston (Brent) Brewerton; son, Roger A. (Debbi) Livingston, daughter in law, Judy Livingston; Robert VanIepersen, whom she considered a son; 12 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; and brothers, Hector Bethart and Edgar Bethart.

She was preceded in death by her husband; son, William B. Livingston; grandson, Tyler Livingston; and brother, Luis Bethart.

Funeral services were held October 17 in the Monument Park Tenth Ward. Interment was in the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
