SERVICE TUESDAY FOR MARGARET J. THOMAS

Funeral service was conducted at the Malad Third LDS ward chapel Tuesday for Mrs. Margaret Jones Thomas, 80, who died July 2, 1960 at the Oneida Hospital of a cerebral hemorrhage.

Bishop Hubert Gleed officiated. Family prayer was offered by Royal B. Jensen and at the chapel, invocation was offered by LaMar J. Thomas and the benediction by Rex Hanson. Speakers were Wm. H. Rutter, Edward N. Crowther and Bishop Gleed, who read the obituary. Musical numbers were a duet, June Ward, Robbie Raymond; solos, Jenkin Jones and Leora Brown. Myra Jean John was accompanist and played the prelude and postlude.

Jonah M. Evans offered the dedicatory prayer at the Malad City Cemetery. Flowers were carried by granddaughters and Third Ward Relief Society.

Bearers were Neal Thomas, Claude Ray Thomas, Clair Thomas, Gerald Thomas, Gary Anderson and Dan J. Evans. Interment was directed by the Benson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Thomas was born at Malad on July 9, 1879, a daughter of William T. and Mary Evans Jones. She was married to Benjamin Franklin Thomas on April 6, 1898 and he died in 1939. Three sons and three daughters have also preceded her in death. She was a member of the LDS Church.

Surviving are five sons and one daughter; D. LeRoy, Malad, Frank B., Long Beach, CA; Claude, Rock Springs, WY; Ralph, Medford, OR; Farrel, Philadelphia, PA; ;Mrs. Morse (Merle) Anderson, Sunnyvale, CA; 16 grandchildren, two great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Ruth McKay, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Elizabeth Hughes, Mrs. Jane Evans, both of Malad.
