HYRUM – Marcia Evans Daugherty passed away September 12, 2014 after a valiant fight with Leukemia. She was born on May 10, 1937 in Malad, Idaho to Raymond and Mabel Evans. She was the fifth of six children born to a farming family. She enjoyed growing up in Malad and remained close to her siblings all her life (Raymond Jr., Wilma, Bob, Nedra, and Don).

On August 10, 1956, Marcia married the love of her life, Verdean Helm Daugherty, in the Logan Temple. They were happily married 58 years before her passing. Marcia and Verdean were blessed with six children: Cherrie Anne (Dan), Michael (Michelle), Kevin (Teresa Ann), Chris (Angela), Tammy (Spencer), and Kathleen (Chris). Marcia and Verdean have 20 grandchildren and 14 greatgrandchildren.

Marcia worked for many years at the Cache Valley Council with the Boy Scouts of America. She not only worked for the Boy Scouts of America; she was also an enthu.siastic volunteer for the organization and cared deeply about the youth. Marcia loved her work with the Boy Scouts of America and made many great friends. She was honored with the prestigious Silver Beaver Award in 2002 .

Marcia was a talented artist and blessed many family and friends with her paintings.

She was very active in the LOS Church and held many positions including Primary President, Relief Society President and served in the Hyrum Stake Relief Society Presidency. She was very concerned about the welfare of others and was active in humanitarian work. Marcia was the first director of the Hyrum Senior Citizen Center and really enjoyed this position. Marcia was also very involved in Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and family history work .

Marcia and Verdean loved to travel. They made many good friends and had a lot of exciting experiences. Marcia enjoyed life and left the world a better place!

The family would like to thank Barbara King and Encompass Home Care and Hospice for their care and love! We would also like to thank Dr. Ben Jacobs and his wonderful staff along with the caring staff of the Logan Hospital Infusion Center. Marcia was blessed w ith exceptional medical care ! The family would also like to thank Marcia’s many caring friends and neighbors for their kindness, love, and support during the last several months.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Thursday , September 18, 2014 in the Hyrum 9th Ward Chapel, 455 E. 100 South in Hyrum. A viewing will be held on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the AllenĀ­
Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center Street in Logan, and prior to the services on Thursday from 10:30 to 11:30
a.m. at the Church . Interment will be in the Hyrum City Cemetery . Condolences may be sent to the family at www. allenmortuaries .net.
