Lydia May Burrie Christoffersen (Birth- Nov. 2, 1885)

Funeral services are being held Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Benson Funeral Home for Mrs. Lydia May Burrie Christoffersen, 81, who died Monday (7 Nov 1966) at her home of natural causes.

She was born Nov. 2, 1885, at Montpelier, Idaho, a daughter of Fred and Mary Ann Herrn Burrie.

She married Oscar Christoffersen March 14, 1905, at Logan, Utah, and the marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.

She received her education in the Logan schools and moved to Malad in 1912 and had lived in Logan and Benson before coming to Malad. She was a practical nurse and an active member of the LDS Church in the Daniels Ward; was superintendent of a religion class for seven years, president of Relief Society, first counselor in the Relief Society, and served a five year Temple mission.

Survivors include her husband, Malad; two sons and one daughter; Floyd Rex Christoffersen, Pocatello; Clair George Christoffersen, Wilmington, Calif.; and Mrs. Harold (Marjorie Lydia ) John, 29 Palms, Calif.; nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; two brothers and three sisters; George Burrie, Malad; Wesley Burrie, Bountiful; Mrs. Jack (Stella) Goodman, San Diego; Mrs. Richard (Volet) Miller, Alamagordo, New Mexico; Miss Dean Burrie, Logan.

FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MRS. CHRISTOFFERSEN

Funeral services were held Thursday (November 10, 1966) at the Benson Funeral home for Mrs. Lydia May Burrie Christoffersen, age 81, who died November 7th at her home.

Bishop Conrad C. Alder of the Malad First Ward officiated and service numbers included family prayer, Gordon Crowther; organ prelude and postlude, Pauline Buehler; invocation, Darrell Swartz; obituary, Bishop Alder; speakers, Charles D. Buehler and LouDell Nielsen; violin selection, Clyde Jenson; vocal solo, Jenkin Palmer; benediction, Hazen E. Gilgen. Accompanists were Pauline Buehler and Myra Jean John.

Concluding rites were at the Malad City Cemetery with Raiford G. Benson offering the dedicatory prayer. Flowers were carried by the First Ward Relief Society, Viva Burrie, President.

Casket bearers were LaVar Christoffersen, Melvin Christoffersen, Jay Burrie, Farrell Christoffersen, Gordon South, Russel Rodgers, Delmar Clark and Ray Clark.
