Oscar Christoffersen

Oscar Christoffersen (Birth – June 26, 1884)

Oscar Christoffersen, 91, died Thursday (May 20, 1976) in the Oneida County Hospital of a long illness and services were held Monday, May 24, at the Benson Funeral Home.

He was born June 26, 1884, at Hyde Park, Ut., a son of Christian and Maria Jorgensen
Christoffersen.

Mr. Christoffersen married Lydia May Burrie Mar. 14, 1905, in Logan, Ut. And the marriage was solemnized Oct. 23, 1919 in the Logan LDS Temple.

Mrs. Christoffersen died Nov 7, 1966.

He was a farmer and homesteaded in the Daniels area. Being an active member of the LDS Church, he served as ward clerk 14 years and in various other church offices.

Survivors include two sons, Rex Christoffersen of Pocatello, and Clair Christoffersen of Malad City. A son, Melvin, and a daughter, Marjorie “Peg” John, preceded him in death.

He is also survived by two brothers and two sisters, Robert, Logan; William, Hyde Park, Ut.; Mrs. Thedora Ashcroft, Preston; and Mrs. Olive Eggert, Los Angeles, Calif.

Burial was in the Malad City Cemetery.

Funeral Service

Bishop Gordon Crowther officiated at services held for Mr. Christoffersen Monday at the Benson Funeral Home.

Paul H. Mills offered the invocation and Charles Buehler gave the obituary and remarks. Bishop Gordon Crowther was the speaker.

Vocalist Rolene Gleed sang two numbers and was accompanied by Pauline Buehler. Mrs. Buehler also played the prelude and postlude music.

Concluding rites were conducted at the Malad City Cemetery with Raiford G. Benson, officiating.
