Louis Fred Coburn (Birth – May 4, 1913)

Louis Fred Coburn, age 63 of Smithfield, Utah, died Jan. 14 (1977) at his residence of natural causes.

He was born May 4, 1913 in Wellsville, a son of Fred Letham and Celia Hill Coburn. He married Fawn Andrus June 23, 1934 in Preston. They were later divorced.

Mr. Coburn received his early education in Wellsville and Smithfield, and had lived in Oxford for 20 years where he farmed. Later he moved to Smithfield where he and a brother operated a dairy farm. He was a member of the Smithfield First LDS Ward.

Surviving are a son, Randall Louis Coburn of Ontario, Oregon; daughters, Mrs. Manuel (Carol) Apodaca, Tremonton; Mrs. Henry (Sandra) Gomez, Fresno, Calif.; Mrs. Ronald (Dixie) Barker, Fruitland; Mrs. Tom (Janet) Deschamps, Malad; 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The following brothers and sisters also survive; Leon W. Coburn, West Yellowstone; Carl H., Idaho Falls; Jack H., Smithfield; Seth H., Oxford; Melvin A., Deweyville, Utah; Mrs. Read (Lucille) Gyllenskog, Nyssa, Ore.; Mrs. Bryce (Colleen) Sorensen, Hazelton; and Mrs. Rex (Marie) Waldron, Samaria.

Funeral Service

Services were held Tuesday, Jan 18 at Smithfield, Utah with Bp. Earl Lindley of the Smithfield First LDS Ward conducting.

Malad people participating in the program included Rex Waldron, who offered the family prayer; Babara Call, who sang a vocal solo; and Patsy Bybee, accompanist.
