Services Held for Lorenzo Anderson

Funeral services were held Tuesday (Jan. 21, 1958) for Lorenzo Anderson, 78, who died Saturday (18 Jan 1958) in the Oneida hospital, at the Malad Second LDS Ward chapel with Bishop Myron Sorensen officiating.

R. M. Anderson offered the prayer at the funeral home. Carol Dawn Willie played prelude and postlude music. Bishop Sorensen gave the obituary and remarks and Joseph Isaacson was the speaker. Dean Williams and Gordon Crowther offered prayers and Carla Jean Anderson and Louis Yearsley sang solos.

Raiford Benson dedicated the grave.

Flowers were under direction of the Second Ward Relief Society and the casket bearers were Joe Davis, Griff Davis, Willard Anderson, Levi Hughes and Steve Hughes.

Interment was in the Malad City Cemetery under direction of the Benson Funeral Home.

Mr. Anderson was born March 8, 1879, in Wanship, Utah a son of Archibald K. and Hannah Acomb Anderson. He married Maria Hughes in Malad on Sept. 12, 1907. A member of the LDS church, he was a farmer, truck driver and was employed at the Utah General Depot during World War II.

Survivors include his widow, Malad, a son, Loren, Portland, Ore; three daughters, Mrs. Charlotte Chatterton, Mrs. Alta Sockrider, Ogden; Mamie Anderson, Malad; a brother S. L. Anderson, Samaria; five grandchildren.

Those from out of town who came for the services were Loren L. Anderson, Portland, Ore; Mrs. Charlotte Chatterton, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Sockrider and four girls, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Atkinson and son Keith, Mrs. Henry Middleton and daughter Sharon, Ogden; Mr. and Mrs. Lee Knudson, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Williams, Salt Lake City; Bill Anderson, Downey; Richard M. Anderson, Leland M. Anderson, Provo; Mrs. Bob James, Pleasant Grove.
