Former Malad Resident Is Killed In Auto Accident

Lester R. Morgan, 55, was killed instantly in a pedestrian-automobile accident in Ogden, Utah, Sunday, Dec. 9, 1945 at 7:00 p.m.

He was struck by a car driven by Alma Roylance, 65, 472 29th St., Washington Blvd., near the entrance to the federal housing project. John Rees, investigating highway patrolman reported.

Mr. Morgan was born in Brigham City, Dec. 3, 1890, a son of William J. and Agness Reese Morgan. He spent his early life in Brigham City and moved to Malad, Idaho at 15. For 15 years he practiced law in Preston, Idaho and moved to Ogden last July. He was employed at the Utah S.S.F. depot as a check clerk.

He was a former commander of the Preston post of the American Legion. During World War I, he was in the Spruce division of the U.S. Army, stationed near Portland, Oregon. He married Norma Humphrey in Nephi on Sept. 9, 1930. He was a member of the LDS Church.

Surviving besides his widow are one son and three daughters, Monnell, Clarice and Shirley Kay Morgan, Ogden and Mrs. Jean Marie Webb, South Gate, Calif.; also the following brothers and sisters; David R. Moergn, mrs. Margaret Parry and Mrs. Winefred Thomas, Salt Lake City; A.R. Morgan, San Diego, Calif.; Warren R. Morgan, Santa Rosa, Calif.; Kenneth F. Morgan, St. Anthony, Idaho; Mrs. Jennie Evans, Malad, Idaho; Mrs. Gertie Talbot, Twin Falls, Idaho and Mrs. Hazel Pritchett, American Falls, Idaho
