LeRoy MacRay Jenson

JENSON, LeROY MacRAY, May 1, 1928 – November 28, 2004

LeRoy MacRay Jenson, 76, returned home to his Heavenly Father on November 28, 2004. He was born May 1, 1928 in Ridgedale (Pocatello Valley), Idaho to Elmo Carlos and Mary Leatham Jenson. He married Glenda June Ossmen on June 9, 1954. They were later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple on May 19, 1981.

Roy graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture. He served on the Oneida County Soil and Water Conservation Board for many years and was a lifelong farmer. He also worked at the U&I Sugar Factory in Garland, UT.

He was a member of the LDS Church and served in the Sunday School and Elders Quorum.

Roy dearly loved spending time with his family and his grandchildren were the joy of his life. He also loved all animals, especially his cats. He was an avid reader with a passion for history and politics. We’ll miss his gentle teasing, the family stories he shared, and most of all his love for each of us.

Ray is survived by his devoted wife, Glenda; their three children: Lee (Vickie) Jenson of Kaysville, UT; Debbie (Brian) Balls of Hyde Park, UT; Lisa (Mike) Heinze of West Point, UT; as well as ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters: Faye Jones, Lorraine Unsworth and June Peterson; and numerous family and friends who will greatly miss him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services were held on December 1 at the Malad Stake Center and interment was in the Malad City Cemetery.
