Leona Harriet Cottrell Taylor, 93, former Pocatello resident, passed away on Friday, February 14, 1997 in Redding California.
‘She was born on October 23, 1903 in Morgan, Utah, a daughter of Joseph and Harriet Eliza Clawson Cottrell. The family moved to Downey from Morgan when she was 12 years old. They lived in Downey until 1939, when they moved to Pocatello, when her husband went to work for the Union pacific Railroad.
In 1970 she and her husband moved to Yuba City, Arizona, then returned to Pocatello for about four years, and then moved to Redding, California, in August of 1989.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed crocheting beautiful afghans and dolls.
Survivors include one son, Steve E. Taylor of Pocatello; two daughters, Mabel Taylor and Bonnie Bolton, both of Redding, California; one brother, Earl Cottrell, of Tacna, Arizona; two sisters, Lena Finlay of Pocatello and Harriet Wallace of Lander, Wyoming; 10 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 17 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, Verl and Glen, three brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 20, 1997 at 1 p.m. at Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, Feb. 19, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Thursday for one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Robin, Idaho Cemetery.
