Mrs. Clara Steed Morse Taylor passed away at her home on Wednesday, October 8, 1997. She was born March 25, 1914 in Morgan, Utah to Charlotte Banford and Thomas Joseph F. Steed. As a young child she moved to Stone, Idaho, where she was raised.
She married Evan C. Morse in Ogden on November 18, 1931. Together they lived in Ogden, Stone, Tremonton, and Brigham City. He died on March 28, 1949. She married Gerald Thomas Taylor on December 30, 1949, in Ogden, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized on May 13, 1965 in the Logan LDS Temple. They made their home in Farr West.
She was a member of the Farr West 2nd Ward and had been active in writing family histories.
She proudly owned and operated a beauty shop in her home for 22 years.
Her greatest treasure in life was her family. She is survived by her husband and the following children: Ted and Kae Morse, Downey, Idaho; DeVon and Marva Morse, West Weber; Joe and Janice Morse, West Weber; Jerry and Caro Jensen, Farr West; Sharon McEntire, Farr West; Ron and Sharlene Morse, Ogden; William and Vicki Lamb, Farr West; a Lamanite foster daughter, Gloria (Robert)Tsosie, Winslow, Arizona. She has 39 grandchildren, 85 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, and two foster grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Marjorie Steed, Yuma, Ariz.; a special nephew, LaVoy Daley, Sebastapol, Calif;; and a special niece, Reva McCoy, San Jose, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: Virgil Steed, Lola Garner, Vern Steed, Triba Daley, and Beryl Steed.
Funeral services will be held at the Farr West 2nd Ward, 2123 N. 2000 W. in Farr West on Saturday, October 11, 1997 at 11 a.m. under the direction of Bishop Boyd Ferrin. A viewing will be held at the church an hour prior to the service. Interment, Brigham City Cemetery.
To my wife – she was my strength. We toiled together side by side. Now she’s resting on the other side. She’s gone and left me all alone. Gone to a much better home. Bless her soul, Now she’s an Angel with a heart of gold.
