Thyra Thomas Conley Taylor, formerly of Malad, Idaho and an Ogden resident since 1962, died at her home on Wednesday, October 8, 1997 following a short illness.
She was born October 1, 1908 in Malad, Idaho to David Morgan and Sarah Jane Williams Thomas, and was the last surviving member of the Thomas Family.
On February 15, 1926, Thyra married U.H. “Con” Conley in Malad. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. Con died in 1958. She married Junior Ivan Taylor on December 26, 1961. Junior died December 27, 1996.
She is survived by four children: Boyd Jay (Sonya) Conley, Pocatello, Idaho; Terry Thomas (Sue) Conley, Morrison, Colo.; Don Colen (Angela) Conley, San Francisco, Calif.; and Kathy Jayne Conley, Ogden; eight step-children: Gary (Elaine) Taylor, Shawnee, Okla; Lloyd _Pat) Taylor, Hyrum; Glen ‘Buster’ Taylor, Yuma, Ariz; Sharon (Kimball) Call, Rock Springs, Wyo; JoAnn (Norman)Penrod, Linda Taylor and husband, Mark Mason, Lois Wardle and Dixie Taylor, all of Ogden. From the combined families there are 40 grandchildren, 74 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 11th at 10 a.m. at the Ogden 71st Ward Chapel, 300 Gramercy (near 2nd St. and Monroe Blvd.), with Bishop Marty Strain officiating.
Friends may call at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd on Friday, October 10th from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday at the Ward Chapel from 9 to 9:45 a.m.
