Leo K. Peterson

PETERSON, LEO K., December 14, 1939 – July 6, 2008

Leo Peterson, 68, of St. Anthony, died July 6, 2008 at the University Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT. He was born December 15, 1939 in Malad, ID to H. Howard and Relia Otte Peterson. He attended grade schools in Malad, ID and Thatcher, UT and graduated from Bear River High School. He graduated from Utah State University with a bachelors degree in Dairy and Business Management. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission in the California Mission. He spent time working in cattle ranching at Henry’s Lake, ID. He then began working in retail sales for Vern and Ferrell’s clothing store in Rexburg where he stayed until they closed. He then worked at Curt’s Corral also in Rexburg until the time of his death.

In September of 1980 he married Beverly Pierson who was the love of his life. She died a short time later in May of 1982. He was a member of the Lions Club. He was an avid team roper and enjoyed golfing and hunting. He was a western dancer which he also taught for many years.

He is survived by siblings, Jeanne Hulet of Stansbury Park, UT; Hyrum Peterson of North Ogden, UT; Lynn Peterson of Pleasant Grove, UT; Ross Peterson of Tremonton, UT; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Beverly, a sister, Diann and a brother, Clark.

Graveside services will be held July 12, 2008 in the Wilford Cemetery.
