Leland L. Harwood Dies Wednesday

Leland L. (Buck) Harwood, 46, died at Lava Hot Springs Wednesday, Sept. 19th, following a long illness.

Mr. Harwood was born August 30, 1916 at Cedar Hill, Idaho, a son of Clarence H. and Pearl Berlin Harwood, and was educated at Cedar Hill. A farmer, he had resided in Malad the past few years. Mr. Harwood was a veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater of Operations where he participated in the African and Italian campaigns with the Fifth Army.

Surviving are his mother; two sisters, Mrs. Clarice Whitnah, Richland, Oregon; Mrs. Cletis McLean, Rockland, Idaho; a brother, Owen Harwood, Malad.

Funeral services, under direction of Benson Funeral Home, will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, September 21st, at the Malad Third Ward with Bishop Hubert Gleed officiating.

Friends may call at the Benson Funeral Home Thursday evening and Friday prior to the services.

Final military rites at the Malad City Cemetery will be conducted by the color guard and firing squad of the American Legion, Ernest W. Jones Post.
