Larry Dean Scott, 61, died Monday Feb. 1, 1994 at McKay Dee Hospital following an extended illness.

He was born Nov. 6, 1932 in Malad, Idaho, a son of George Milton and Naomi Roderick Scott.

He graduated from Malad High School and later attended Weber State College. He trained and graduated from the F.B.I. Academy in 1968.

He married Joyce Williams, June 6, 1952 in Tremonton, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple July 1, 1966.

He was an active member of the LDS Church and had served in several church positions.

Larry devoted 24 years of his life working as a police officer for the City of Ogden. He retired in 1984 at the rank of Sergeant. In recent years he worked as the manager of North Ogden Super Wash.

He enjoyed working with people. He had a great sense of humor which made life brighter for all who knew him.

Larry had many interests and hobbies throughout his life. He had a great interest in sports, and participated in Golden Glove Boxing through his school years. He later worked in the Scouting program and was proud of his work with young people in the program.

His hobbies included membership in several car clubs and he enjoyed competing in car shows with his “51 Chevy.

He is survived by his wife of North Ogden; one daughter, Christine Allen, Washington Terrace; one daughter-in-law, Fay Scott Dvorak, North Ogden; seven grandchildren.

Also surviving are three brothers and four sisters, George M. Scott, Sandy; Khalil Scott, Malad, Idaho; Rodney Scott, Pocatello, Idaho; Althea Buckley, Pleasant View Utah; Josephine May, Malad, Idaho; Lila Moss, Malad, Idaho and Laura Bennett, Pocatello, Idaho.

He was preceded in death by his parents, twin sisters, Ella and Vella and a beloved son, Larry Dean Scott. Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 4, 1994 in Ogden with Bishop James Erickson officiating. Internment was in Ben Lomond, North Ogden Cemetery.

OGDEN, Utah – Larry Dean Scott of Ogden, Utah, formerly of Malad, Idaho, passed away Tuesday, February 1, 1994, at the McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden following a valiant battle with cancer.

Larry was born November 6, 1932, in Malad, the son of George Milton and Naomi Roderick Scott. He married Joyce Williams on June 6, 1952. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce; a daughter, Christine Allen, daughter-in-law, Fay Dvorak, and seven grandchildren, all of Ogden, Utah; three brothers, George M Scott of Sandy, Utah.; Khalil Scott of Malad, and Rodney Scott of Pocatello; four sisters, Mrs. M.R. (Althea) Buckley of Ogden, Mrs. Joe (Josephine) May and Mrs. Bill (Lila) Moss of Malad, and Mrs. Clell (Laura) Bennett of Pocatello; many nephews and nieces and some very special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Ella and Vella, and his beloved son, Dean.

The family will receive friends at the Lindquist Mortuary in Ogden, Utah from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday evening, Feb. 3, and from noon to 12:45 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 4. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. at the Lindquist Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd., Ogden, Utah.
