Nathan Scott, 17, died at Hagerman

Nathan A. Scott, 71, Hagerman resident, died of a short illness on Feb. 16, in a Twin Falls Hospital.

He was born April 13, 1904 at Malad City. He attended schools at Malad and later attended Wasatch Academy at Mt. Pleasant, Utah.

he married Leona Fenhaus at Greenriver, Wyo., Dec. 1940.

He was foreman of construction of Pleasant View and Samaria fire extension. He worked with Western States Utility Co. of Malad, later transferred to Hailey Idaho.

In 1936 he started work with Union Pacific in charge of electrical installation construction at Sun Valley and stayed on as chief electrician.

In 1942 he signed up with M.K. in Ohau, Hawaii as foreman at the Naval Air bases, returning 14 months later to his former job at Sun Valley.

In 1969 he retired in Hagerman, Idaho. In 1972 he went with the State Electricial(sic) inspector service part time. He held this job at the time of his death. In 1975 he was elected to the Electricial(sic) hall of Fame for outstanding and dedicated service for over 40 years.

Surviving are his wife of Hagerman; two sons, Gerald Scott of Glenrock, Wyo.; and DeRay Scott of Malad; three sisters, Isabelle Chantland, Whittier Calif.; and Mabel Scott, San Clemente, Calif.; and Genevieve Scott, San Clemente, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 19 at the Leeper Mortuary in Wendell.

Bishop Floyd Marsch of Hagerman LDS Church officiated.

Interment was in the Sunset Memorial Lawn in Salt Lake City on Friday.
