Services Wednesday For Mr. Halford
Funeral services for Joseph Willard Halford, age 94, Portage, were conduction Wednesday afternoon at the Portage L.D.S. Ward with Bishop Devere Harris officiating.
Mr. Halford died Sunday morning in a Tremonton hospital of natural causes after an illness of six weeks.
He was born March 18, 1871 at Oregon Springs, Utah, a son of Joseph Henry and Emma Hoskins Halford. He moved to Portage with his parents when he was a child and received his education there.
Mr. Halford married Rhoda Young, August 18, 1891, at Woodruff in Oneida County. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on Set. 20, 1911. Mrs. Halford died in 1961.
In addition to Portage, Mr. Halford had also lived at McCammon, Idaho and in Montana.
Surviving are four sons and six daughters: Mrs. Bert (Ethel) Hall, Portage; Mrs. Eliza Knudsen, Portage; Mrs. Victor (Mary) Roberts, Oliver, Lester, Ralph, Carl Halford, Mrs. Charles (Carmen) Warner, Mrs. Bill (Theo) Grooms, Mrs. Norma Anderson, all of Weimer, California; 25 grandchildren; one brother and three sisters; Melvin Halford, Layton, Utah; Mrs. Roy (Lizzie) Hale, Pocatello; Mrs. Pearl Hawkes, Portage; Mrs. Grace John, Portage.
