Joseph Henry (Harry) Fry

FRY, JOSEPH HENRY, August 21, 1892 – March 28, 1975

Joseph Henry (Harry) Fry, age 82, died Friday in St. Benedict’s Hospital, Ogden, after a short illness.

Mr. Fry was born August 21, 1892 at Banwell, England, a son of James and Harriett Ross Fry. He never married.

Mr. Fry was educated at Glendale, South Wales and worked in the coal mines from 1905 to 1912 when he came to the United States from Ferndale. He and his brother Arthur homesteaded where they farmed until 1963 in the Elkhorn area. He was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include seven nephews and nieces.

Funeral services were conducted Monday at Benson Funeral Home with Rev. S. Norman Naugler officiating.

Family prayer was offered by Richard Hincks. Special music included a vocal quartet, Norma Naugler, Jeanne Jenkins, Robert Hess and W. Griff Jenkins, and a vocal solo, Helen E. Jones. Accompanists were Rebecca McDaniels and Patsy Bybee, who also played prelude and postlude music.

Concluding rites were at St. John Cemetery with United Presbyterian Women in charge of the flowers.

Casket bearers were Alfred Fry, Cecil Fry, John Fry, Michael Fry, Terrell Fry and George Fry.

Benson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
