Joseph Gleed

GLEED, JOSEPH

Joseph Gleed, 84, Brigham City, Utah, died January 21, 1980 following a long illness.

He was born November 16, 1895 at Malad to William and Elizabeth McKay Gleed. He married Fern Haviland November 10,1917 in the Salt lake LDS Temple. She died in 1966. He married Emma Toombs December 7, 1971 at St. George. He was a lifelong resident of Malad until moving to Brigham City eight years ago.

He was a rancher and cattleman and active in the Idaho Cattlemen’s Assoc., where he held many offices. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was a High Priest. He filled two stake missions in Malad.

Survivors include his wife, Brigham City; a daughters, Mrs. Russell (Eva) Jacobsen, West Jordan, UT; a step daughter, Mrs. Frank (Donna) Flint, Promontory, UT; ten grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; three brothers; Wilford Gleed and Ern Gleed, both of Malad, and Guy, Provo, UT; four sisters, Mrs. Mattey Gerrity, Reno, NV; Mrs. Bob (Pearl) Sorenson, Montebello, CA; Mrs. Bob (May) Moss, Ogden, UT; and Mrs. Lizzy Sheriff of Salt Lake City, UT.

He was preceded in death by one son, Judge Fred J. Gleed.
