Jose Jesus Gomez, 8 November 1906

DOWNEY – Jose Jesus “Joe” Gomez, longtime Downey resident, passed away April 27, 2002 in the Bannock Regional Medical Center in Pocatello.

He was born November 8, 1906 in Jalpa, Mexico. He married Vella Tripp on March 29,1934 in Pocatello, ID and they made their home in Downey.

Joe was retired from the union Pacific Railroad after 44 years of service.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Vella, of Downey; one son, Joel (Dodie) Gomez of West Valley, UT; one daughter, Dolores Fallows of Roy, UT; three grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son in law, Jesse H. Fallows and a great granddaughter, Jaclyn Smith.

Graveside service will be held May 1, 2002 in the Downey City Cemetery. Arrangements by Horsley’s Marsh Valley Funeral Home.
